Carlow Voices Membership Commitment:
The choir rehearses every Tuesday night from 7.30pm to 9.30pm currently in Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál, Carlow. Rehearsals run from September until the end of May.
- Following a voice assessment, applicants will be informed when a suitable position becomes vacant in the choir. A probationary period of four months applies to all new members, at the discretion of the Musical Director.
- Regular and punctual attendance for is essential – a minimum attendance of 75% is expected.
- Members commit to arriving at rehearsal with music from previous rehearsals prepared, to attend occasional line rehearsals if required and training workshops (usually one or two workshops over the course of the year.) The committee will strive to ensure line recordings are made available to aid rehearsal at home.
- Members agree to participate constructively in the decision-making processes of the choir.
- Female members agree to pay €20 for uniform. Uniform remains the property of Carlow Voices and must be returned on leaving of the choir.
- Members pay an annual subscription, which may be paid in three instalments (September, January and April). Any applicant may apply for a reduced fee, determined at the discretion of the Chairperson. The standard fee for each term will be €100 and may be subject for review pending choir numbers.
- Members will assist in promoting performances of the choir; each member will be asked to strive to sell a minimum of 6 tickets for each performance.
- Members are requested to assist, where possible, in fund-raising activities & preparing for performance events.
- Choir members are informed regularly by email, text, WhatsApp groups and social media; by signing below, members give permission for the committee to use the contact details you have provided above for this purpose.
